Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Chairs Meeting on Peshawar Law and Order

PESHAWAR - Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif today (Thursday) said  that law and order is first priority of the government and every possible step is being taken to restore peace and security across the country.



He was speaking at a high level meeting on law and order situation in Peshawar.

The Prime Minister said that security forces will be equipped with latest gadgets to deal with the security situation including terrorism.

He said that the government is making legislation to curb the menace of terrorism. He said that those inovolved in terrorism will be brought to justice.

The Prime Minister said that the government is ensuring equal rights to minorities in the country.

Nawaz Sharif said that targeted operation in Karachi is continuing successfully.

Governor Engineer Shaukatullah and Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak‚ Federal Information and Broadcasting Minister Pervez Rashid‚ Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz‚ IG FC and Corps Commander Peshawar attended the meeting.

Inspector General Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Durrani briefed the meeting on law and order situation in the province.

Later today, the Prime Minister will also meet the affected people of Church and Kissa Khawani bomb blasts.
